Lana'i's Cook Island Pines

Cook Island Pines

A lone Norfolk Island Pine, planted at Koele in 1878, was the inspiration for ranch manager George C. Munro as to the importance of the fog coming off of Lanai Hale. This fog is a valuable producer of water for the island in the form of fog drip.
